thats not a joke. the plane was empty. we all had rows to ourselves. miracle flight. and they played Mamma Mia as the movie (dont tell anybody but i fell asleep during it.) the food was bad though. but i mean. i really was expecting the worst thing in the world, 11 hour flight with 3 children and an infant. did someone at home pull some strings? thanks guys. means alot.
you know the tunnels you walk through to go from the airport to the actual plane? jakob said "sexy!" about it. also they brought a tray of food for the baby, with baby food on it. not standard. South African Airlines, i tell you.
it wasnt snowy when we got here yesterday morning but hanna wished for snow AND:
its not a lot, but ... maybe she had something to do with the flight also.
i love the pretzels. and nele's parents have a dog imported from Seattle. so im not the only american in the house, we totally get each other already. oh and they feed it a banana for breakfast and rice, chicken and cooked carrots for dinner. (im talking about a dog by the way)
oh and heated floors, brilliant.
also this is from hartbeesport, this is how you flush the toilet.

Are you sure that's not the dreaded spitting toilet cobra?

Take a pic of the dog from seattle! Does it wear flannel?
thats exactly what it looks like out my window!! not the toilet picture, the snow one. ITS SNOWING! we've got a good fraction of a millimeter. or less!!
Nancy here. We now have more than a few millimeters of snow (perhaps Hanna had something to do with our snow as well), and we have another several inches due any minute. Very exciting goings-on here in West Linn. No cobra toilets, though.
Glad your flight was a miracle. I have a friend here who feeds her Bichon Frise (dog, that is) chicken, rice and carrots. I'll have to tell her she's being withholding by not giving her doggie bananas for breakfast.
Miss you, Margo.
