we went to De Hoop this weekend, its a really big nature reserve. we saw lots of whales swimming (not on the beach, like in cape town 2 weeks ago where there were 55 beached whales) it was kornelius' 1st birthday on friday so he got an ice cream cone. he didnt get a cell phone, and this is the main reason why. but how cozy is that hanna andersson suit? thanks louise.
we saw lots of baboons and some antelope whatevers i dont remember what they are called. and since its winter here, we basically had the whole place to ourselves. the weather was very very nice. one morning robin and i stayed home while the crew went out and we were just reading and heard some noises in the kitchen, it was just the cleaning lady. she was dropping lots of stuff so i walked out and saw it was a bird inside in the window sill.. oh! its just a bird. no big deal. two steps forward. oh...... its also a giant baboon sitting on the kitchen table eating fruit. OH MY wordddddddddd. he was like a meter high SITTING down. i totally freaked and ran back in my room and locked the door and wondered if we could escape out the window. robin, brave soul, took a stick from the cupboard and went out and hit the wall with the stick and yelled HEY and the baboon took off. and shat a couple times on his way out. i was really terrified. baboons are really mean did you know that?
and speaking of baboons. here is a TON of them harassing sheep and behind the sheep a large herd of pelicans. what a blast of a crowd! ok its divided into two pictures if you know how to make a panorama, feel free.
oh and everyone was toast by the end of the weekend. nap time!

God love the Hanna A. Classy choice Adamses
WOW...Baboons?!?! You are having quite the adventure, Marg. Hope you won't be too, too bored with the lane when you come home. Olivia and I picked some cherries today, but, alas, no Baboons - just Pierre and two white "sheep-looking" Bichons.
We're getting excited to see you in July!
