SO i been back in south africa for a week now. but before then i had 2 weeks of holidays in germany with my mom and cameron. first my mom came and we were supposed to be on the same train and then i missed it so i think she panicked but you'll have to ask her. i was also panicked on the trains because i had to change 3 times and with my suitcase and it was a sincere fear of mine that i would fall in between the gap and my chin would get smashed apart. it didnt happen. it certainly could have if i hadnt taken the recommended precautions (alive awake alert enthusiastic).

so mom and i stayed at dorothees which was really nice and they are great. we also went to wurzburg for a couple nights and so here is one of just two pictures of mom and i. i have grown significantly (this is a normal size door frame) and she has shrunk significantly. thats okay.


we also went to france one day but just took one picture and it was just in this cheesy diner with mirrors and mauve upholstery. but we went to colmar. it was hilarious and dorothee and i spoke a lot of french (baguette, janette, claudette, ooh la la la la) and it was real fun. then another thing we did was go to a castle and here is mom and Hans standing on the patio..


i went to another castle when i was in munich because i like castles alot now.

here is me in front of the ticket booth at the kandinsky show. the shop was on the other side of the street and looked the same, but the actual show was in another building and then the other part of it was in a section of the U-Bahn station (weird?) but yeah it was a good show and this is the only museum where i got student $ admission.


and here is a bike at the neue pinokotheck moderne (i dont really know.) that someone might be interested in seeing. cameron was really excited about thsi museum and his ears turned red and he was sort of hyperventalating. they had old IBM computers and cheese graters and stuff. yes.


and then on tuesday stellenbosch was on fire. the entire "mountain" that we are seperated by one other house and then a river by was flaming. here is a picture from inside our gate:


and here is a picture of the hill... i know its a terrible picture. can you at least get the idea? actually i just decided not to post the picture because i think it makes it look like no big deal, like a campfire. so just imagine a ravaging fire taking over the entire hillside and helicopters with giant balloons of water an inch from our roof all night long. that is what happened.
